You can use the waterless cooking method for making these tasty traditional appetizers. Waterless cooking recipes can be adapted from many of your old traditional favorites. The new method is easy, healthy and saves energy.
Here is an old-time classic appetizer done in the waterless cooking way that you may enjoy:
Devilled Eggs
6 eggs
¼ small onion finely chopped
2 TBSP. mayonnaise
1 tsp. mustard
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. pepper
1 tsp. paprika
Use the waterless cooking method to hard-boil the eggs: Wet a paper towel and place it folded in the bottom of a 1 qt. waterless cookware pan. Place the eggs on top of the paper towel. Cover the pan and cook on medium heat with the valve open until vapor escapes. Close the valve and turn to low. Cook for 13 minutes. Remove from heat. Immediately place the eggs under cold water to cool. Remove the egg shells. Cut the eggs in half lengthwise and remove the yolks.
In a small mixing bowl, add the egg yolks with all the other ingredients. Mash everything together until smooth. Spoon the egg mixture back into the cut eggs. Sprinkle each egg half with a small amount of paprika.

Salmon is a healthy food, rich in omega-3 fatty acids and is considered a heart-healthy food. It is recommended that the average person should eat fish rich in omega-3 fatty acids at least twice a week (two 3 oz. servings). Also, generally speaking salmon has the lowest methyl-mercury contamination levels of any fish. Salmon is a great tasting fish that is good for you. It can easily be cooked using the waterless cooking method.
Here is a delicious salmon recipe done with the waterless cooking method that you may enjoy:
Dilled Salmon
Serves 4
4-3 oz. salmon pieces
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. pepper
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 TBSP. dried dill
½ lemon
Preheat your waterless cooking pan on medium heat for 3-5 minutes. Place the fish in the bottom of the pan and season with all spices. Squeeze the lemon juice over the salmon and drop the ½ lemon into the pan with the fish. Put the lid on the pan and seal. Allow the fish to cook for about 6 minutes and turn off the heat. Allow to sit for a couple more minutes, and then remove the lid to test doneness. The salmon will be done when flaky on top.
The above recipe is excellent served with the following Dilled Cucumber Salad:
Dilled Cucumber Salad
2 medium cucumbers
2 cloves garlic, finely minced
½ large container sour cream
2 TBSP. white vinegar
2 TBSP. dried dill
Salt and pepper to taste
Peel cucumbers with a paring knife and slice thinly. Place in a bowl. Add remaining ingredients. Stir together and thoroughly coat cucumbers with sour cream mixture. Cover with plastic wrap and let sit in the refrigerator for at least one hour (for flavours to meld.)

The waterless cooking method allows you to easily create great main dishes that your family will love. This method of cooking keeps in the natural juiciness of the meat, while steaming the potatoes to perfect doneness.
Here is a delicious one-dish main course using the waterless cooking method. All you have to do is add a simple salad for a complete meal.
Pineapple Baked Ham & Potatoes
1 – 4 lb. centre cut ham
1 TBSP. mustard
1 can of diced pineapple, drained (reserve ¼ cup liquid)
2 TSP. brown sugar
1 TBSP. garlic powder
8 medium potatoes
Rinse ham and place in large waterless cooking pan. Add the mustard, pineapple and ¼ cup of pineapple juice. Sprinkle with garlic powder and brown sugar.
Cut potatoes in half and add to pot on top of ham.
Seal the lid and cook on medium heat. When the valve whistles, reduce the heat to low. Cook 50 minutes more (or about 20 minutes/lb.)
Turn off the stove and release the pressure. Spoon out the potatoes and slice ham. Serve with a little pineapple sauce on each slice of ham.

The waterless cooking method allows you to eat healthy meals that are easy to prepare. You can enjoy the tenderness of the meat and add flavor with different ingredients.
Here is a simple, different main course done using waterless cooking. Serve the pork chops with brown rice and vegetables.
Pork Chops with Apples
4 ½” thick pork chops
1 Granny Smith apple, peeled and sliced
¼ cup unsweetened apple sauce
1 TBSP. garlic powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. cinnamon
Preheat waterless cooking skillet on medium heat. Season the pork chops with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Brown pork chops on both sides in skillet. Add apples and apple sauce on top and sprinkle with cinnamon. Cover and cook over medium heat until the valve whistles. Reduce heat to low and cook 15-20 minutes longer. Remove lid and serve pork chops with a bit of sauce over each.

Waterless cooking is not just for cooking vegetables. You can adapt many recipes geared to oven cooking to be done on top of your stove using your waterless cookware. You may find your adapted recipe will taste better, be better for you, saves energy and that clean up is easier.
Here is a tasty Italian dish done using the waterless cooking method that you may enjoy:
Skillet Lasagna
Meat Sauce:
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 large chopped onion
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
1 26 oz. jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. pepper
1 tsp. garlic powder
Cheese Mixture:
1 ¼ cups cottage cheese
¼ cup milk
½ tsp. salt
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 ½ cups shredded Mozzarella cheese
6-8 oven-ready lasagna noodles
In a large waterless cookware pan, brown the ground beef. Drain off any liquid. Add onion and seasonings. Add spaghetti sauce. Put lid on pan and with heat turn to low cook for 5 minutes. While meat and sauce is cooking, mix together all cheese mixture ingredients (except 1 cup of Mozzarella cheese).
Remove lid from pan and ladle out 1 ½ cups of sauce. Set aside.
Cover the meat mixture in pan with a layer of lasagna noodles. Spread a layer of cheese mixture over the noodles. Layer more lasagna noodles over this, then a second layer of cheese mixture. Spread the reserved sauce over all of this. Cover and simmer on low for 15 minutes. Remove lid and spread the 1 cup of reserved Mozzarella cheese over top. Cover and cook until cheese is melted. Uncover and let stand for about 3 minutes before serving.
